If you're still running on Windows 7 and just recently installed the March 2017 Windows Rollup, you may suddenly be receiving a BSOD (blue screen error) saying IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. The cause is an issue with Avast, and you need to update or disable a feature of Avast!
The symptom is that your machine will seemingly randomly crash within 10 minutes of use (even if you aren't logged in) and gives a blue screen error. The good news is, if you are a business user, you can push out a temporary fix until Avast fixes the issue.
How to fix
If you are a business user you can enable a workaround by logging into business.avast.com, on the left menu choose "Network" and then "Settings". Then choose the template that the affected machines are using, and edit that. Disable "File Shield" and then wait for the affected machine to download the new settings (or update it manually on the PC). Avast is aware of the issue and is working on a fix, hopefully it will be out soon!
